Most construction software is a set of tools that happen to share a login. Buildiante is built so a number entered once carries forward. Here is a single quantity — measured on a drawing — travelling all the way to a purchase order. Every step below is a real feature you can use today, not a diagram of an intention.

Where a step below says AI-assisted, a real model drafts something and a person reviews and confirms it before it changes any data — that is a hard rule in the system, not a setting. Where it says smart alerts, those are rule-based checks on your own project data — not predictions, and not a trained model.
  1. Measure the room on the drawing

    Open a PDF drawing, set the scale once, and measure the floor area directly on it. The measurement stays linked to the sheet it came from.

    • Areas, lengths, and counts measured on the actual drawing — no printing, no scale ruler.
    • Select the finished measurements and send them on; the quantity travels with its label and unit.

    AI-assisted: If the BOQ arrived as a PDF with a real table, Buildiante can read that table into draft positions instead — you review every row before it lands.

  2. It arrives as a BOQ line — you price it

    The measured quantity lands as a position in the BOQ, in the section you chose, with the rate left blank. You set the rate; the section total and the BOQ grand total recalculate as you type.

    • The quantity is carried through — you never retype a number you just measured.
    • "From history" offers the median of what you have charged for the same item before; you can take it or type your own.
    • A rule-based check can flag a rate that sits well outside your own history — labelled "not a model", with the sample size shown.

    Smart alerts: Rate anomaly flags and the "from history" suggestion are arithmetic on your own past BOQs — not a prediction, not a trained model.

  3. The priced BOQ becomes a first schedule

    "Generate from BOQ" creates one activity per priced top-level section, split by each section’s cost share and chained back-to-back from a start date you give. It adds activities; it never edits or removes ones you already have.

    • A starting programme derived from the scope you already priced, not rebuilt from scratch in a separate tool.
    • Critical path and float are computed from there; rule-based delay-risk flags point at the activities most likely to slip.
  4. Package the same lines out to bid

    Select BOQ positions into a bid package. Subcontractors get a scoped, expiring link — no account — and see the descriptions and quantities, never your rates. Compare what comes back side by side.

    • The scope is the same BOQ lines — no copying items into a new document.
    • Automatic flags on the comparison: a line one bidder didn’t price, a rate far outside the others, a total far off your estimate.

    Smart alerts: Bid anomaly flags are stated rules on the bids in front of you — missing lines, per-line outliers, deviation from your estimate. No model.

  5. Award writes back, a PO follows, the invoice checks itself

    Awarding the winning bid records a subcontract and drafts its purchase order — the same scope, not re-keyed. On the PO, ordered vs. received vs. invoiced is checked line by line.

    • The award rate writes back to the BOQ; the PO carries the awarded scope.
    • The three-way match ranks any mismatch by money at risk, with a plain likely cause — so you look at the big discrepancy first.
    • A vendor invoice PDF can be read into the invoice form for you to confirm; recording it is the same manual step as always.

    AI-assisted: Invoice extraction reads a tabular invoice PDF and suggests a PO-line match with a confidence figure — you confirm before anything is recorded.

None of the handoffs above are automatic in the “set it and forget it” sense — each one is an action you take, and anything a model touches you review first. What's connected is the data: the quantity, the rate, the scope, and the award all carry forward instead of being retyped at every stage.
