How do I create a new BOQ for a project?
Every project gets one BOQ from an empty-state button — here is exactly where to find it.
Each project gets exactly one BOQ document. If a project doesn't have one yet, creating it takes one click.
- Open the project and go to its BOQ tab.
- If nothing has been created yet, you'll see “No BOQ for this project yet” with a “Create BOQ” button. Click it.
That's it — you land in an empty BOQ, ready for its first section and position. It starts in draft status, fully editable.
Who can do this
The button only appears for roles that can edit a BOQ — Owner, Admin, or Estimator. Project Managers can view a BOQ once it exists but won't see the create button; Field Supervisors don't have BOQ access at all. See what each role controls.
